Drive Hockey Analytics signs experienced sport science coach to bring the Drive Hockey Tracking System and its pro-quality data to Manitoba.

VANCOUVER, 9 March, 2023 / Experienced coach, trainer and sport data science leader, Barret Dufour becomes Drive Hockey’s Regional Service Partner for Brandon, Manitoba and the surrounding region. Dufour brings a wealth of experience in competitive sport, as a strength and conditioning coach with a Fiesta Bowl winning football team, AAA coaching experience, and a MSc in Sport Coaching.

The Drive Hockey tracking system uses an array of sensors around the rink, along with player tracking sensors to gather more than 3000 data points per second. The company uses proprietary AI to parse the data into meaningful analytics for players and coaches. The easy to set up system provides NHL-level data reports that quantitatively analyse in-game skills, eliminating bias from evaluations. The company’s mission it to revolutionize player development and coaching.

Barret Dufour is a Human Performance expert from Brandon Manitoba. Over 20 years Barret has been involved in several different sports.  This includes playing rugby in the Leinster (Ireland) U20 league, the All-Ireland Rugby League, The Welsh Championship, Welsh Cup and West Wales Division 1 and USA Colligate Rugby Division 2.

After receiving a Master’s Degree in Sports Coaching from West Virginia University in 2019 Barret has worked in the NCAA as the Strength and Conditioning Intern with Georgia Tech Football in 2020 and as a Human Performance Intern with the 2022 Fiesta Bowl Champion and College Football National Championship runners up, The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs. Barret has also worked locally with the 2021-2022 U15 AAA Southwest Cougars and has assists local high school athletes with NCAA recruiting.

Barret is currently enrolled in Grand Canyon University as a PhD Student in Performance Psychology. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.   He holds a variety of coaching and training certifications that include Westside Barbell Special Strengths Certificate, USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach, and an Elite Trainer through the International Sports Science Association.

Drive Regional Partners provide tracking services for hockey teams of any level, which includes game tracking, evaluations and combines, practice tracking, and player benchmarking. Associations and teams are also able to purchase their own tracking systems through Innovative Sport Analytic Technologies.
