Reports ToOperations Lead

DRIVE is looking for outgoing, entrepreneurial students to be the face of our technology at the rink — and an extension of our broader sales and marketing engine. As a Sports Marketing Operations Associate, you’ll be stationed rinkside during practices, games, and open ice, introducing players and teams to DRIVE’s wearable sensor technology, getting them to try it, and converting interest into paid users and subscriptions. Beyond the rink, you’ll also help generate leads, support marketing campaigns, and represent the DRIVE brand across the local hockey community. It’s a hands-on mix of sales, marketing, communications, customer experience, and light technical operations — perfect for someone who loves hockey, enjoys talking to people, and wants real, well-rounded sales and marketing experience.

What You’ll Do

In-Person Sales & Athlete Experience

  • Greet players, parents, and teams at the rink and introduce them to DRIVE’s sensor technology.
  • Clearly explain how the technology works and the value it delivers to athletes and teams.
  • Get players to try the sensor during their ice time and guide them through the experience.
  • Sell and upsell analytics packages and subscriptions, turning trial users into paying customers.
  • Distribute, collect, charge, and manage the wearable sensors between sessions.
  • Operate rink-side systems used for check-out, data syncing, and account setup.
  • Provide basic first-line technical troubleshooting and support to users.

Marketing, Communications & Lead Generation

  • Serve as an on-site brand and marketing presence for DRIVE at the rink and within the local hockey community.
  • Generate and capture new leads from players, parents, coaches, and teams, and log them accurately for follow-up.
  • Support local marketing efforts, including grassroots outreach, rink and league partnerships, and community/team engagement.
  • Help distribute promotional materials, run in-rink activations, and represent DRIVE at events, tournaments, and showcases.
  • Capture content and stories (photos, videos, testimonials) for use on DRIVE’s social media and marketing channels.
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively across in-person, phone, and messaging/email follow-up with prospective customers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with rink staff, coaches, and team organizers to support ongoing lead generation and referrals.

What We’re Looking For

  • Entry-level role — no prior experience required.
  • Hockey background preferred, but not required.
  • Strong people skills and comfort approaching and engaging strangers.
  • Sales, marketing, communications, or lead generation experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable with basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter who’s comfortable generating leads and following up independently.
  • Reliable and available for evening and weekend shifts.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site at an ice rink and requires standing for the duration of your shift in a cold rink environment. Some remote/online work and travel may be required.
